Need help identifying this Ski Nautique. Here all ALL the numbers I have pulled from the boat, title, and included some pics. I am avid slalom skier and have a 2007 SN...but picked I this up for less than a $ong :). I'm just trying to CONFIRM the build year, model. etc and see if the identification information on the title is correct. You'll see from my notes below that I can't actually find the long title number ON the boat. Please share some color on this vintage boat and chime away. Thanks in advance! (yes, this 'ol girl has been painted, graphics are screwy, etc BUT...vinyl is almost perfect, the floor has been replaced (not sure about stinger condition) and boat is 99% complete.
Plaque next to shifter: SN : 1690 Bigger plaque on Motor: can't make out the labels too well but can see these numbers (also in photo) LM 318 BWR10-366 E070518 1-27 P Smaller plaque on motor: MODEL: LM 318 XYRX/378 SERIAL NO. E 171756 PART NO. 9/29 Plaque on transmission: VELVET DRIVE - Warner Gear MODEL AS1 - 71C Ratio 1:1 SERIAL NO. - 100010 From State Title (not the 'original' title): MSZ00133G393 - not sure where this came from but is on the title (can't find that # anywhere on boat, yet) 18' - (it is indeed 18' long, I measured) 1970 Correct Craft ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hi Mike
Based on your tag number of 1690 I think it's a 71. The reason is that if you look in the Diaries/For Sale sections at the 70 thru 72 SN's that are listed, some have the ID number listed, most don't, but the listed ones are helpful There are a handful of 71's listed with the lowest number being a 1666 and the highest being 1839 and your 1690 is in between those numbers so...........1971. Now as far as looking at boat features and identifying the year by those features, I'm not your guy but some people will probably come along to eagle eye the boat and maybe agree with the 71 model year or maybe not, but a lot of things can and have changed in 49 years

Yup...may flip, may cut up and make a bar, may replace heads and get her running. Lot's of options as I have a 2007 SN. I purchased this boat unseen with full intentions of cutting it up to make a bar BUT after picking it up and seeing it's such a complete boat I'm definitely reconsidering.

Have you considered restoring this one and cutting up the 2007 for the bar??? ![]() Do you know the story on the engine, was it running, is it toast? The stringers would be the major issue for most that are interested in the boat, if for any unlikely reason they are decent this would be of interest to lots of people I think.

I’m guessing it is the hard rough winters that make you guys cut up beautiful boats for indoor bars

Daryn, Why do you feel the practice is only in the northern colder areas? Sorry, but I have to disagree.

My guess would be that you guy's sitting around looking at hard water got nothing better to do,you know hold my beer and watch this type thing. Snowmobiling has changed that but no one cuts one of those up for a bar- too small. But they have transformed the dynamic's of transportation to the the local tap

If we end up parting this ol' girl out out I'll list that here and let folks know what's available.
It's funny that many are opposed to cutting up at 50 year old boat...knowing it will still be used, admired, and honored...all while drinking. This 'all there' '71 (above) needs a few $K in motor work...so reasonable offers considered and she won't get cut up. I need thoroughly inspect stringers (new floor from previous owner needs to be taken off which is a 10 min task the way he did it...fingers crossed they are good).
For what it's worth I just 'saved' a '75 SN hull that was literally on it's way to the dump. Saved might mean something different to others but 99% of the parts had already been salvaged for a restoration project of another boat. We drove 7.5 hours each way to get it. ME to NJ. Stringers we roached and boat 1000% gutted...barely a carcass...just an empty hull. We cut that puppy up and used the stern (outdoor bar on casters), both side panels (hanging as décor; 1 in camp, 1 in shop) and the bow is pointing out of a garage. Only thing that went to dump was the rotten stringers. There was nothing left. I consider that one saved since cutting up was the only option from keeping out of a land fill. I agree this '71 shouldn't be cut up...so someone please make an offer to buy it. Alternatively there's at least $1500 in parts...and you'd still have a hull for a small stern bar :) |

Mike. You’ve redeemed yourself with other ‘saves’ in past.
Pete , can we agree the train horns must go at least What are those for, just daily safety or tournament? |

Blasphemy!!!!!! I absolutely love the "train" trumpet horns on Kermit. It scares the poo out of other boaters just thinking about cutting me off! One blast of those trumpets and they rethink their intention! |

Another agree to blasphemy. Electrics on my Tique and Freon converted to CO2 on the X55. The best blast is under bridges! ![]() I'm thinking about an upgrade: ![]() |

I’m ok with putting the horns on the transom top after you cut it off for the bar
Blast the horns at happy hour |
