Guys
I may have asked this questions years ago butt... I have a 79 FN with a 454 gen 4 and velvet drive 1:1 ( edelebrock 1410 ) -- she is completely restored and I wish i knew how to load pics so yall could see it Anyway I'm not sure if i have the correct prop -- its stamped 14x11 but i want to know what's the best prop to use right now cruising speed is about 25 mph at 3,100 rpms and rarely push it hard-- i went up 4,000 rpms the other day for 2 minutes and it got up to 28 mph, calms seas 4 people on board (600 lbs) ( 100 lb ice chest) and 150 ln trolling motor any suggestions would be great ( note 4300 rpms is max) |

A rule-of-thumb I’ve used is a one inch (1”) decrease in prop pitch will result in an increase of 200 RPMs at WOT. Your mileage may vary. Do not operate heavy machinery while using a propeller. Etc.
