Temp gauge help needed |

My 1990 Ski Nautique 351 Ford Windsor temp gauge has stopped working. If I jump the terminals the gauge pegs so appears to be working. What could be wrong? Temp sending unit? Wiring connection? How do I resolve? Thank you.

I think you can take the wire off the sender and hold it to a ground with the key on. It should cause the gauge to move. If it does, that may point to a bad sender.
