After seeing some people restore the gel it got me to thinking and it’s been about 10 years since I did the 3m 3 step process on “Big Red”. The weather doesn’t look the best for the next two weeks so I decided to try my hand at it again as the luster has become a little dull. One side 1/3 of the way home.

I also searched for my original thread from way back when and couldn’t find it. I realize the pictures are gone but was wondering about the entire thread. 🤷🏻♂️. I’ll open the google box and try again but first attempt revealed nada.

So far so good. I am doing it in slow fashion so about an hour at a time. also, its not nearly as oxidized as the first time I did it so that helps. First of three steps should be done tmro.

After reading through the link Ken supplied, this looks like a really unique and cool boat with a great backstory. Too bad the pictures on the link do not appear.
My background is in muscle cars and hot rods, so this boat really speaks to me.... very cool.....

Two times around with step one. One time around with step 2 and 3. Wax is next. I hope this lasts as long as the first time. I also hope I have some help from the next generation next time!

Thanks. It has its fair share of dings and such but for 53 years old it cleans up pretty well. Its still the family favorite out of the fleet as well and provides everyone a step back in time.
