I need some advice removing the rear grab rail on my '95 SN- it's in a sorry need for powdercoating but i can't get it to budge. I removed the 3 nuts that i thought were holding it to the rear of the boat. I don't want to aply too much pressure in case that might crack the fiberglass- any tips or ideas how to remove safely?

It must look like this

Last time I took one off , it was from a Sport Nautique, same vintage and some love taps from inside got it out pretty easily. The gas tank was out so there was some good room to swing a hammer.

You could also probably cut some wedges and use them to loosen things up if you don't have good access from the inside

yes, thats exactly what mine looks like... but half the finish is gone. i will gently apply some love taps and see if i can remove it. i haven't removed the fuel tank yet...but may need to to replace the hoses/gaskets anyways.
I can't really tell if the grab rail is painted/coated or powder coated as it looks shiny underneath. My plan is to have it powdercoated in flat black once i get it out.

Thanks for the info

so a little tappy tap tap and i got it out. However, I cant tell if the grab rail is painted/coated or powder coated. I can't get the image uploader to work so i shared the g-drive link.

Any ideas on how best to remove the coating to prep for powder coat?

A quick update- i blasted the original coating off and had the rail powder coated. Not sure what gloss level was factory but this has the sheen of electrical tape- It looks fantastic. I'll update with fotos when i get it back on the boat.
