I need some help with a mystery problem that no one can seem to resolve. I have a 1992 Ski Nautique with 476 hours on it and in immaculate condition. The current motor has approximately 210 hours. The problem is this. I can put it in the water and it fires right up and runs like a champ. I can run it for approximayely 30 minutes and have no problem at idle speed through no wake zones. After about thirty minutes I can pull it in to neutral to go through a no wake zone and when I put it in gear, it stalls and cuts off. I pull it back to neutral and it fires right up with no problem. When I put it in gear it stalls immediately. After it cools down, its the same thing all over again. Runs great for a while and then stalls in a no wake zone.  Everything has been checked and there is no glaring issue. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...

You should probably give a little information about the engine, since in 1992 Correct Craft was selling quite a few boats with the PCM Pro Tec ignition system instead of a conventional distributor.

So.............distributor or Pro Tec ignition?

If it's a distributor what do you have under the cap, points or an electronic module?

Must be a Holley 4 barrel carburetor for a 1992

What stuff has been checked or replaced/rebuilt/cleaned etc. so far?

And if you go to your duplicate thread in the General section, you can delete it as long as nobody has posted after you in that thread. That'll avoid confusion with things getting posted in 2 different threads with the same title Wink

Perhaps you can post a picture of the engine and close up of the distributor and carb?

Saw this thread while searching something else.  With out any other info to go on here you may want to replace the accelerator pump (little diaphragm right below where fuel line enters carb?)  Mine does that when that thing gets worn out.

Good luck.
