Most of the northern part of the country and Canada have winterized and put there boats away. the Southern half many are still on the water.
Others have started to referb/restore/repair/refit or just plain messing with their boat in the garage.

Winter project(s)?-rebuild the Dunphy 312. 
Engine out to replace leaky rear main seal. Easier with the #5 main bearing cap off. Turned it over for a peek, and.......ugh! Copper! Gouges! 
So now block, crank and rods etc. at machine shop. Fun...

Oh, and assemble 1972 Porsche 911E engine
Rebuild Honda CB750 carburetors
Weld flares onto Porsche 914
Strip and powder coat 1971 Bronco frame......

Brian, MourningWood, our member 67 Ski Nat has a trailer he thinks you may want.  Single axle Natique trailer.  Just passing on the note, he had contacted me about it.   
I like your projects list, not one of them I would kick to the curb.   I had history with the 911E when it was brand new.  Very nice car, it was the quickest 911 of that period because it had a little more power but shorter gears than the S models.   Very fun car.  Your Bronco, those have gone through the roof in value.  Seems every collector wants one.

I'm guessing your Porsche 914 gets the cold shoulder and some eye rolls from your Porsche 911.

Agree on the great resource of the parts houses as Jody mentioned, really appreciate that when you need the right part you get the right part.

You guys are assuming he has a 911 when he could be putting the 911 engine into the 914. A stock 914 don't need no fender flares....

I have seen 914’s with small block Chevys in them.   No idea how they handled but I am sure they were fast.
I autocrossed against a 914 6 cyl back in 1976.  It was fast and handled amazingly well.

For me this winter: engine needs new valve lifters... Had a valve rattle on cylinder 2 or 3 at the end of the season. So had to cut off the season three weeks earlier than normal.
So that needs to be fixed.
We'll check if there is some play on the rockers first, but knowing me, that would be too easy LOL

You're right, I saw 911 engine and assumed a 911 was attached to it.  If a swap into a 914 that would be pretty interesting.  But until Brian confirms one way or the other I'm going to guess no swap.

I had a 1981 CB900 Super Sport.  Fun bike, really pleasing power delivery, great seating position.  The suspension kind of sucked, hitting bumps the front end wasn't confidence inspiring, but enjoyed the bike.

Yep-swap.
Have had a slew of 911's an a lone 914, (with 95 h.p.). As is often done, a homemade 914-6.

Like most of us, the 'winter list' is longer than the months are cold.

Kristof, I hope it is just loose valve train, when you pull the lifter inspect the foot, the foot rides on the camshaft.  If the foot is cupped out you will need both a cam and new lifters.

Well that's a cool project!  Like most people, I have to wonder what Porsche was thinking with the 914.

I have a Porsche hankering, trying my best to restrain myself but doubt I'll succeed.  My main focus is a 911, likely early 2000's, have gone back and forth between Carerra and Carerra 4 and not sure which I'd end up with, only interested in coupes, not convertibles.  I briefly toyed with finding a 944 in decent shape, but think I'm over that.

Full refurb and re-power of a 1995 sport.
swapping a LS package into my 71 Pontiac.
Not mention the race boat been sitting for 2 seasons now untouched...
And yes working part time for Nautique Parts.

David they were thinking and the plan was that VW was going to sell the 4 cylinder version and Porsche the upgraded 6 cylinder. VW pulled out and left Porsche holding the bag so they ended up selling both models. I got rid of my Avalanche and did something I said I'd never do again and thats buy a diesel- a Cayenne. VW drivetrain in a Porsche wrapper like the old days. A total impulsive buy saw it when the Mrs Macan S was in for service. Said I'd never buy a black car again as well....  I know many are not too intrested in non Correct Crafts but as to boat projects I had to do mine in the summer since this boat was going south. Picked this baby Shamrock up a year and a half ago but didn't have a dock space for it yet so I was in no hurry. Well last July a spot opened up so now it was a race against time. It had been sitting for something like 7 years. Biggest project was the helm seat they originally used a Igloo cooler and naturally they don't make that exact one that fit the oem base, anyway both it and the original blow molded base was sun damaged. So I used the best one to make a mold and modified it to fit the new coolers base. Also tried my hand at making a carbon fiber dash and cutting new plexiglas for the dash. Next summer I'm going to hunt for a new engine since the old Indmar 4 cyl GM block is tired and has typical cracking. Mercruiser,Volvo and OMC all used the same basic engine in their I/O's  just have to find a pre 91 so it will easily bolt up to the Velvet drive. 
  
Here are some pics of the cooler/seat mount - I first hot glued together the best original one to splash a mold off of.  I then cut that into 3rds, extending it approx an inch evenly on each side of the teak seat backrest and glassing that back together so it fit the new style cooler. Then I cut them lengthwise making two halfs to make the new molded ones easier to remove. After the fit was correct I coated them with orange tooling gel. Coated that with PVA, I laid up epoxy and mat to the thickness I needed. After removal I bonded them together repaired any defects and Imron'd them. The original dash was plastic and had broken up due to age and heat. Made the new one out of carbon fiber just to try to see how and if I could do it. Last picture is of the PO when he had it, some of you might know him.

Gary, How high did those cooler mounts pick the cooler up? I have fat 20 shamrock and need a couple more inches in my set up. cant sit on the seat and look over the dash,, i am short..

Jody it is 20" from the floor to the top of the cooler. I'm 6' and can see over the console fine but I suspect this console is on the small side as well.  Do the 20's use the same cooler seat combo's?  If they do and their in good shape maybe you could make a spacer to put between the floor and the mount to raise it?
