Hello there!
My name is Tom and im from the Netherlands and live in a small town around Zwolle. In 2024 I bought a 89’ Ski Nautique 2001 with an 351w. Its a blue one with a nice big American flag on the sides. Its a beauty but it needs love. The motor haves white smoke, dont idles very good and the throttlehandle is not working very good (little gas before it shifts into forward). It also needs a new impeller and some oil. Does anyone knows the parts number for the impeller? Living in the Netherlands in nice but getting parts is not very easy. Cheers! |

Good morning Tom. You come the right place. one of this sites advertisers is nautiqueparts.com. as well as their associate outlet Discount inboard marine www.skidim.com (current discount code for them is USA2025) impeller # on NP site, SHE-09959K on dim site, RP061015 White smoke is concerning, head gasket or even something allowing water to intrude into the combustion chamber could be causing that. a compression check as well as aleak down test and read the plugs should tell you more about the health of the engine. There is a lot of people with great incite on this site and one if maybe a few will chime in as this is the premier site for the older Correct Crafts and the power plants the push them through the H2O. You came to the right place.. Welcome..

Good morning for you! Its the afternoon for me😉. The white smoke looks like steam. So its not that the exhaust is to hot or something? Thanks!

My 95 Nautique, 351W powered has white smoke if I use it in cold weather. Engine is perfect, it is just steam. If you have white smoke in warm/hot weather it is most likely an engine problem as mentioned. Cold for me is below 60* F when I see the white smoke/steam. The checks already mentioned can verify what is leaking.

Have you been running the boat much on the water, or just enough to see the steam and find the other things that need to be fixed? Glad you are going to replace the impeller right off, that will eliminate a potential problem right away. Jody (FL Inboards) mentioned reading the plugs, if you pull some spark plugs and post pictures of them here it might help.

Why is it that when I see a neighbour from the North on any of my forums, they always live in the North of The Netherlands...?
![]() Too bad you are still 200km away, otherwise I would come over and bring along my leak tester and my compression tester and we could do some testing on your engine over a few beers... You are always welcome to drag your boat some 200K South... Fridge is stocked

I start with checking the vacuum with a rough idle you're stating.

I copied a post on how to add pictures from the how to add pictures thread.
Always better to add pictures and video to your threads, very easy to do even for me. 75 Tique wrote: Per Ken's request/suggestion, and per Ken's efforts in finding a relatively easy way to post photos, here is a step by step process. 1. Have photos you want to post in your phone gallery or on your computer. 2. Open website imgbb.com (no need to sign in, sign up, or register unless you want to) 3. click or tap on "select images to upload" 4. Go to your gallery or computer and select photo(s) (Leave autodelete option on "dont delete") 5. click or tap "Upload" 6. In the "Embed codes" box, scroll to and select "BBCode full linked" 7. in the box at the bottom of the page where the photo URL shows up, tap or click "copy" 8. Open your CCF reply and tap and paste or click and paste. 9. Voila, its there. (Note: it wont show up until you view preview or post it) I suppose 8 steps sounds like a lot, but its mostly quick easy point and clicks (or taps) Goes quickly and easily. Give it a try |

No, I do not...
Yep, works fine. Try it Tom and do not be shy to post pictures here. Lots of knowledgeable people to help you out.7
Black spark plugs indicate rich air-fuel mixture, weak ignition, among others To say it in our language: een slechte verbranding en meestal te rijk afgesteld. |
