1.23 Transmission Fluid Level

Hi,

I have a 1989 SN2001 with the 1.23:1 transmission.

I want to replace the transmission oil, but just wanted to check that the dip stick I have is correct (see the attached photo).

Does this dipstick look like the original? There is no MIN or MAX text on the stick, just a flattend area. Am I correct in assuming that the oil should reach the flat area (red lines on the photo)?

I have read that the oil level should be checked by just allowing the dipstick to rest against the first o-ring in the transmission casing, and it should not be pushed in completely - is this right?

So, to check the level when the engine/transmission is warm, can I take the dipstick out while the engine is running, then switch it off, quickly insert dipstick fully, and remove and check it?

Also, After I replace the fluid, with the engine cold, can I used the "cold level method" to check that I have added enough oil?
