I am considering installing a heater in my '96 Sport and looking for location guidance and routing of the hot air hoses. I certainly want to be able to have the observer to have the ability to relocate the place the heater hose where they want. Suggestions?

The factory typically installs the core/fan behind the driver kick panel, the windshield defroster outlet is center front of the dash pod and the other 2 outlets are in the kick panel, get the kick panel hoses that can be pulled out and moved about the front of the boat, mine will extend to the passenger seat. BTW, I never have needed/use my defroster, if you don't see a need I would skip that outlet.

My aftermarket heater only has two ducts and does not include a duct for defrost. The pullout out hose is probably 6-8 feet long. Typically, I keep a blanket in the boat. several passengers can place a blanket over themselves, put the flex hose under the blanket and all stay warm. BKH

Brian,
Mine has the factory installed unit, only 2 duct outlets and a Y that splits the defroster and one of the kick panel outlets. |

I built mine using a couple of blowers and some heater cores. Less than $100 in it and it works great. I plumbed the exhaust water back into the line before the water strainer so the engine has some pre heated water to work with.
