snake oils are in no way recommended in any transmission, i just blew a piston out of a cylinder and cut my guys finger wide open from the force of the piston being lodged and then letting loose, the transmission had a slimey additive in which was the cause. the stop leaks are basically a brake fluid that swells rubber to twice its normal size. a transmission with additives in it typically are more expensive to rebuild because of the damage it causes. it is a band aid, and if you need to add an additive to stop a leak...pull the trans and repair the leak correctly

Insert cricket sounds. . . . . That deafening silence should answer your question. |

When people run down to the lake to see what's making that noise, you've succeeded.

160 views and no positive comments? I guess we don't have any marketing types in the lubricant additive industry that can tell us about all the benefits!

I once had a pile of *************** truck that had a rear differential that would make a terrible whine on the highway. This good old boy in town told me to put banana peels in it. It worked great! That thing quieted down and worked for another 20,000 miles.

I've heard adding sawdust can help out an old tranny that's beginning to slip.

It might have any way the motor gave out and the diff was still going. It was a $750.00 Isuzu when I got it and was not a good truck when it was new. (College days) |

Eric, I actually tried a few different oils including some crap the guys at the auto parts store said would do the trick. Nothing made it stop humming. I new the truck was ready for the dump when I did the banana thing. I did it more to get a rise out of my friends who were with me when the guy told me about it. I was totally surprised when it worked. A good bit of beer was involved when the bananas went in. Please note the old boy was clear that it should only be the peel. |
