I am having a bit of difficulty finding info on the 1997 Sport Nautique. I am very close to purchasing a very fine specimen with the GT-40 engine, but am looking for the specs on the boat. Would also like to hear from others as to their experiences with this particular year.

I also looked at a 97 Sport Nautique, but we ended up with a 97 SNOB (Ski Nautique Open Bow) instead, because the sport wouldn't fit in the garage. Mine also has the GT 40 engine, and has 220 hrs. We just bought it last year, so we didn't use it as much as we wanted. But just from a few uses, I can tell you it's the best tow boat I've ever been behind....that ranges from older Nautiques, newer Master Crafts, etc. It has more power than I could ever want, gets lots of looks, and hasn't given me one ounce of trouble. I say GO FOR IT!!!!!

Go for it. My brother has the exact boat and has had many trouble free years.

George, I have a 97 sport and it is a great boat. The slalom wakes are not what I would call world class. Bump at 28 off. But for the most part my wife and I really love it. We mostly wakeboard and the wakes are good, with no weight added. I had some problems with the boat but nothing I could'nt live with. Over all I would recomend this model to my best friend. By the way mine has a carb. Not E.F.I.
life is short live it!!!

Thanks for all that have gotten back to my posting. Looks like I will pull the trigger on the 97 Sport.
