Happy Holidays. I have a need to get to my rudder (tiller arm) to adjust my steering cable. How do I remove the floor to get there? I'd appreciate any advice/experience? THANK YOU
Ryan

ryan, on my 97 sport you have to remove the engine cover just 2 pins. then remove the rear seat again just 2 pins then lift out the center of the floor exposing the middle of the boat. Very easy to do. Also good time to check your engine alignment.
life is short live it!!!

If its a DD it will be like my 2000. You have to take the whole back end out. Start with the drivers side bolster( bpadded side rail. It is held to the fiberglass with 7-8 nuts about 7/16" Remove this so you can get the back deck out. Then remove the engine cover, middle floor board, and rear seating. Then remove the 2 plastic covers bolted to the rear deck section. 1 covers the fuel filler hose and 1 the vent tubing. After removing those the back floor will come out. There are 2 stainless straps holding the gas tank down the nuts are 1/2" I think. Remove those and all the hoses. Make sure you mark the pickup and return hose so you donn't mix them up/. The emptier the tank the easier it is to remove. After removing the tank you have open access to the rudder and cable. While your there I would recommend repacking the rudder gland with 1/4" Teflon flax. Also check the muffler for leaks and tighten all the exhaust hoses. It took me about 3.5 hours to do all of the above.
