What's the best way to clean off the old gunk/glue after removing the old boat name? Then does it need any prepping before I put our new name on? Thanks,
Kirk

Kirk,
Do you have the old letters off yet/ And I assume they are vinyl and not painted?

(Bill is right on -if vinyl residue.)

I just removed some of the vinyl lettering from my BFN & I used the acetone like Pete said. Worked great!

3M makes an adhesive remover in a spray can that worked well on my pick-up but Acetone works just like the gang said.

Kirt, Depending on how long the name has been on the boat, you may find a shadow from the old in the gel when you remove it. It is the virgin gel that hasn't absorbed dirt it the pores and hasn't beed affected by sun light. I have found that the surrounding gel can't be brought back to match. I have had to re gel coat a transom because of the problem. Just telling you incase your wife says something!!!

Just for curiousity's sake, what's the name that you are so eager to remove?!?!

Was it worse than the offset "Wildman"?!?!

What could be worse than that?

No names on Correct Crafts anyway. Not needed.

Current name is the name of the previous owner's wife: FRANCES B. We are renaming to "It's A Gimme!". Because the very nice PO gave me the boat!!! Thank you Mr. Taylor.
