I am a BAD AMERICAN
{ YOU DON'T NEED TO KNOW MY NAME } YES, I'M A BAD AMERICAN I Am the Liberal-Progressives Worst Nightmare. I am an American. I believe the money I make belongs to me and my family, not some Liberal governmental functionary be it Democratic or Republican! I'm in touch with my feelings and I like it that way! I think owning a gun doesn't make you a killer, it makes you a smart American. I think being a minority does not make you noble or victimized, and does not entitle you to anything. I believe that if you are selling me a Big Mac, do it in English. I believe everyone has a right to pray to his or her God when and where they want to. My heroes are John Wayne, Babe Ruth, Roy Rogers, and whoever canceled Jerry Springer. I don't hate the rich. I don't pity the poor. I know wrestling is fake and I don't waste my time watching or arguing about it. I've never owned a slave, or was a slave, I haven't burned any witches or been persecuted by the Turks and neither have you! So, shut up already. I believe if you don't like the way things are here, go back to where you came from and change your own country! This is AMERICA. If youre born here and don't like it you are free to move to any Socialist country that will have you. I want to know which church is it exactly where the Reverend Jesse Jackson preaches, where he gets his money, and why he is always part of the problem and not the solution. Can I get an AMEN on that one? I also think the cops have the right to pull you over if you're breaking the law, regardless of what color you are. And, no, I don't mind having my face shown on my drivers license. I think it's good..... And I'm proud that 'God' is written on my money. I think if you are too stupid to know how a ballot works, I don't want you deciding who should be running the most powerful nation in the world for the next four years. I dislike those people standing in the intersections trying to sell me stuff or trying to guilt me into making 'donations' to their cause. I believe that it doesn't take a village to raise a child, it takes two parents. I believe 'illegal' is illegal no matter what the lawyers think. I believe the American flag should be the only one allowed in AMERICA! If this makes me a BAD American, then yes, I'm a BAD American. If you are a BAD American too, please forward this to everyone you know. We want our country back! We NEED GOD BACK IN OUR COUNTRY! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, ONLY BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE |

you want it back from who??? Not sure I understand this question
you need God in America? but you dont need your "brothers"? This country was founded under God, so yes many here do need Him. Our "brothers" are welcome, as are all that are willing to contribute and abide by the laws we have set forth. All those not willing to accept those terms can hit the road. and by the way, is God an American citizen? where's his office located?? Of course not, why even ask a question like that, even if it is meant to be smart ass. Maybe you missed Sunday school, but He is everywhere. Isnt America somehow larger than NOTH America? You are right, there is a South America, but there is only one United States of AMERICA. if not wich continent do I live? See previous responce and who canceled Jerry Springer??? Who cares. |

That post was meant for people that live and love the American Way of Life. Sorry that you cannot say that you have had that experience. To be willing to DIE for your beliefs, for the freedoms and gifts that come from our democratic way of life.
For that loss on your part I pity you, that boat and the motor that drives your boat were all part of an AMERICAN DREAM. You may not understand nor agree with our morals , values and the debt that we owe to God, but you own part of the result, GO FIGURE. I am glad I live here and you there, your loss my gain............Boat dr Who cancelled Jerry Springer,,,,,,,,,, SOME *************** IN ARGENTINA DID......... |

Yeah, my boat is on the water. Thanks for asking. I was not trying to provoke you or anything like that. I just don't like it when outsiders look in and critisize what we do here. We seem to get a lot of that. My view is that if you do not like what we are doing here, then leave, or don't come in the first place. But we have the opposite problem. People what to come here, illegaly, to enjoy all the benifits we have and then complain about everything, and how we are not taking care of them. They deserve nothing and, in my opinion, should get nothing except a free ride back to whatever ****hole they came from.
On the other hand, if you want to come here legaly, obey our laws, and contribute to society, I have no problem with that. Just my .02 |

Let me please add one thing on this topic which was not made completely clear for the benefit of Luchog or any other non-American out there who partakes on this fantastic interactive website with us: I don't know of a country in the world that has it's doors as open or embraces good people from all over the world like good Americans do. It's the dream upon which this country was founded, and should always be that way. Then pull in Adam's strong points above, where many Americans feel that we constantly have ridicule cast upon us (not on this site though), and for reasons, non-war related, which we can't always understand. As a nation, we love tourists and are intrigued by good-hearted foreigners and really get excited when the thought of any of our CCFan brothers from around the world contemplate a visit.

Somehow since yours is indeed a great country, and hands down one of the strongest on the world, on many ways, as a nation and as a military and economic force, many of your domestic issues, wich you deal with every day have can have serious influence in what happens all around the globe, that might be why the rest of the world outsiode the US, feel in our right to think, guess and form and express opinions on what you do with your country and way of life, because somehow something as domestic as your presidential elections will play a major role in the fate of us all, not just you US citizens by birth, right or whatever, but of everyone on earth.
Also, it's pretty funny that some people who stands by the US way of living, wich calls for freddom of speach feel so angry when a foreigner says something they dont approve, I never heard that I needed to be a US citizen to express any of my ideas, regardless of if they are or not about your great nation. I believe that even though this a public forum, if you will throw some questionable topic in the forum and can't support it with good manners, you should just not post it, or at least be ready to stand behind it with something better than agressions and "pity" That I call Intolerance, and I have to say that I expected better from such a good mechanic. Azeus, I'm no criminal, so wherever I go I will respect the laws, as I think you'd do if you visited any other country. The fact you live there and I live here, or vice-versa does not make us any different, and for the record, I have no desire to live in the US just visit family and some shopping maybe. I agree with you that ilegal residents should be deported, however, I dont share your comment on that they deserve nothing. Reidp, I really appreciated your comments, it also made me feel relieved since I think you are one of the nicest and more interesting guys here, Jbear has spoken in high regards about you, and even since you might not agree with me on this topic, you were kind enough to answer in a polite way. That I call education, and I really thank you for that. Waterdog, yours is indeed a great country, in some cases you can pull out things that are impossible for the rest of the world, and for that you are very well respected. In some other cases you simply screw it. Can you live with both? |

I traveled alot when i was younger and much into other countries and was always welcomed with open arms and i must say was treated better in other places than alot of times from strangers here. coming to america was always a big topic with the foriegners and i couldnt understand why they wanted to leave the paradises they were in. Alot of these people did not have anything but they did have one thing and you did always notice and it was a smile upon thier faces. Luch, its no different here than it is there and someday i do hope you visit along with Kristoff

Topics like these are always sensitive and tend to lead to serious (sometimes even emotional) debating.
I too love my country and as an army guy, will defend it to the end, even if we have some major domestical issues tearing it apart for the moment. And I expect nothing less than that every one visiting my country, respects its ways... The reason my country has such political problems is due to the fact that nationalism is growing again, making the gap between dutch speaking north and french speaking south bigger and bigger... Nationalism growing out of proportion is NEVER healthy, as became very clear in Germany some 70 years ago... I for one respect every ones ways, even if they do not concurr with mine, I try to understand them and learn from them. To me, that is an enrichment. My visit to the US next year is not about seeing the big tourist attractions, but to enjoy the everyday american way of life. I'm sure during our stay at JBear's, we will learn alot from each other! I already had the opportunity to talk to JBear and Eric on the phone, and really enjoyed talking to them. There will be a lot more calls in the coming year (still lots to learn ) And saying that all illegals should be deported is to me a dangerous statement. We too have our share of illegals here, but many of them are refugees, that had to flee their country, and, nobody leaves his home just to be an illegal in a foreign country. I've seen enough reasons during my missions abroad... But if you come to my country to profit from us, disrespect our ways or engage yourself in criminal activities here, by all means... Get the hell out! Otherwise, I'll be the first to welcome you, cause we also are a great country |

We the U.S. has somehow became the worlds police officer(and everyone hates cops until you need one).Let Agentina protect the world. I personally have made a trip or two around the rock. I've welcomed European exchange students into my home, and had a wonderful time doing it.
Sometimes our polices are less than perfect, but if the blame goes to the BRAVE young Men & Women tasked with enforcing them than the blame is misplaced. 28 years with Naval Avation(Navy & Marine)Try picking facial tissue out of an aircraft instument panel so it can be put in the grave with the pilots remains. Someone's got to do it.And I'm proud to say I did the best I could. Now if you would excuse me it's time for the Pledge of Allegiance. |

Kristof- I agree with you about everything you said except this. Refugees are one thing, but I highly doubt anyone could classify all the illegal Mexicans in the USA as refugees. They come here for jobs and free, good, health care and are, in general, a drain on the system and therefore my pocketbook. You see, that is the biggest misconception about the US, that we do not have free healthcare. Trust me, we do. My wife works as a finacial consultant in a hospital and she will tell you all about how every single person qualifies for some sort of aid. The only people that do not qualify for finacial aid are the ones who are rich enough to pay there own, they just choose not to buy health insurance. Luch- When I say "you" in my above post, I was not speaking directly to you. It was meant as you in gerneral as in the whole world. I hope that makes sence and I hope you did not take offence to my above post. I would never call you a criminal. I don't even know you. I am glad we can have this kind of debate with people from around the world, on a website devoted to Correct Crafts, none the less! |

I've enjoyed reading this thread.
It really scares me the direction our/MY country is heading. If we don't wake up, all of the preceding discussion isn't going to matter because the Chinese are going to OWN us, literally... I used to try to "Buy American" but it is just about dang well impossible to do now. |

I agree about the Chinese stuff. What do you guys think of this idea to help the immigration problem? Place heavy taxes on products from China and India to drive there prices up. Pass tax incentives on products from Mexico. This would keep the money closer to home and create jobs for Mexicans keeping them in Mexico. Then with there increased buying power they can travel here as tourists and spend dollars here. |

the problem is the normal kid or you and me wont do the same job as the Mexicans and i mean about picking beans not as in quality, we need the migrant workers to do this, it sounds selfish but its the truth. can you imagine telling your kid to get up its time to pick the tomatoes or oranges or beans....alot starts with re-education. kids (not all) dont even leave thier home until they are 25 these days and have absolutely no work ethic and its i would imagine because of the parents....im programming my kids already as my step father did with me about work ethic,I want them to go to college but also i want them to work as hard as they can in whatever they end up doing, no f-in nintendo's in my house. thats me though

I think the problem with the Mexican workers is they work too cheap and bring the wages down for American workers. If the wages were higher for the farm work more people might be willing to do it. Picking beans is not a hole lot different than working in an assembly plant, but a lot of assembly work has had it's wages protected by unions until lately. We like our food to be cheap at the check out counter so we pay for it in lost jobs and wages.
Also our I think many kids won't work because they think they don't need to. They have every thing they need with out working. Kids growing up in this same country that don't have what they want because their parents can't buy it learn to work a little harder. |

Damn kids these days...Im 25 years old I worked all the way through highschool and college, actually paid for college as I attended and not because I had to but becayse I wanted to prove I was an adult to my parents and gain respect from them. I like working and enjoy the moey I make but in this country it feels more like being punished when you get a raise cause there are kids in our schools who arent citizens that are using up my tax dollars, People at the welfare office using up resources just because they are availible to them. I have no problem with the hispanics some are great workers its the ones who steal things out of my truck while im asleep or the ones who right gang signs on my rent homes. The ones who are working and contributing to society just need to pay taxes just like me. The ones who arent need to leave. I dont care who you are as long as you work provide for your family in an honest fashion.
After thinking about it, I dont believe I have one buddy who lived with his parents past 20. |

alot depends on the area you live in, and its different across the board, we have different problems over here in Ohio and its not a heavy migration area for the Mexicans but...we'll open a whole new can of worms if i go any further

In the past we had to find workers to work in the coal mines, because the belgians found themselves far too good to that kind of "dirty" work... So Italians came and Maroccans and Turks... Today we have people who want them and their sons and daughters out of the country... Even when most sons and daughters are born here and posess the Belgian nationality.
These days the same thing happens in contruction compagnies. As they can't find decent workers to do the job, they hire Poles, Romanians... And what bothers me is people here complaining that they take away our jobs and should go back to their own countries... We are still talking about human beings here, not some tool you can put back in the tackle box when you don't need it anymore. |
