I know that many of the newer boats bond the top shell of the boat to the hull to create greater strength. I have an '82 and was wondering if this is how it was done or is it just bolted together? And if it is not bonded when did they start bonding nautiques?
Thanks! |

Mike:
I cannot tell you if or when CC (or others) started bonding boats together. What I can tell you is that both my '77 and '93 are screwed together with silicon type sealant between the hull and upper shell overlap. The screws are generally spaced about 7-8 inches apart. Then the rubrail screws also penetrate the seam fully. |
