The other day in a grocery store parking lot, i saw Mustang SVO....with Antique/Early American plates on it! with the silly tin lizzy image.
If you are a genxer at all, lets lament together.. sorry, no pictures. you'll have to take my word for it. |

In Illinois Antique Vehicle plates restrict you to driving only to car shows, parades, for service, etc. as well as makes the vehicle exempt from having all the required modern day devices, such as turn signals and the like. How do I know this, back when I was 16 (1980) Pop's let me drive his 30' Model "A" to work and on my way home 5-0 pulled me over and was going to write me a ticket, lucky for me I worked at a Full Service gas station (remember those) and was wearing my uniform, so I told him I was servicing the car.
Ok, back on point, weren't the first SVO's the 4 cylinder versions w/Turbo's or was it a supercharger? |

I was thinking about this the other day. How is it that Cars or Music from the 70 or 80s are now considered classics, or oldies.
Then I thought, when I was a kid in the 60s and 70s, a 32 Coupe was a classic, and music from the 50s blared on the oldies stations. Didn't seem that unusual to me then. A tough pill to swallow, but 30 or 40 years is a long time. Nearly half a lifetime for most of us. As Morfoot said to me a couple of weeks ago "Face it Brian, you are old." BKH |

32 is still a classic at my house. 
in MA cars built after 1948 must have fenders. I can run a year of manufactor 1932 license plate. |

I know that I'm growing older but that doesn't mean I have to grow up!
My little girls school me on Guitar Hero. Yes...I just admitted that. The saddest thing is the bands like Bon Jovi, Nirvana, Twisted Sister & Kiss are now childrens games. Heck, just last week I heard an instrumental Vanilla Ice in an elavator. You know you know the ALL words too. |

Try the Angry String Quartet's cd of GnR, its got all the favorites and is a blast to play say, during thanksgiving; everyone under 50 is bobbing heads and the elders say, oh, this is nice.

Nice, hadn't heard that one. I'll have to look for a copy. For years I used the Devo Easy Listening Disc for dinner parties. Also have an album of Pat Boone covering heavy metal hits. A favorite is Pat sings Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne. BKH |

Here's another one guy's- Apocalyptica
We have a really nice cello that has just been sitting since someone graduated last year, coulda had a really nice boat for what that thing cost. You have to do what you have to do for your kids tho,and at least he can play something, not like his mom or myself who can only play the radio
