    Posted: October-25-2009 at 6:55pm
It's happened to me a couple times where I've wanted to post the same picture a second time in a different thread. Since the picture is in my file manager, the site won't let you do it unless you change its name first. How, or can the existing picture be taken out of the file manager and posted a second time?

I just now wanted to post the picture of the nice petcocks with the removable stems.

I am not sure what or where the file manager is or how taking the photo out of that affects your original post.

When I have run into that, I just change the name of photo to post it a second time. Seems to work.

Pete or whom ever:
Go to Member Control Panel
Click on File Manager
Uploaded files and your allocated space is shown-didn't know that your allowed space huh?
Your files on left in box; click on one
It goes to the file preview box
hit Delete.

Did it work???

Thanks,Marty

Marty,
When you delete the picture in the file manager, will it delete the picture in the thread it was originally posted in? Remember, you're talking to a non computer literate person here!!

Larry,
Click on "member control panel" and then "file manager"

Yes. That's when you see the dreaded RED X's in the posts.

Thanks for pointing that out to me Pete. I was not aware of that new feature or that we were now limited in our photo posts. I guess we get around that with photobucket. As I suspected, deleting from file manager deletes from post, so if you want to repost, as I said, either rename or go the photobucket route.

I'll see what happens when the alloted space per member in the file manager runs out!!

I already found out the hard way way what happens when you clean up/delete pictures in photobucket! Yes, then you see the little X's where pictures used to be in past posts too.!

Pete, you can also 'quote' the post where the 1st pic is and then copy and paste to the new thread.

Greg,
Great idea! I'll have to try it when the time comes. That of course is if I can find the original!! I'm not too sure I like the new search here. Maybe I'm just not used to it yet but it seems I was able to find things eaisier with the old one.

Finding the original is the 'catch'!

On the search, try the advanced search/all forums/any date/display as topic(not as posts). I tend to resist change, but I like the new search now that I'm used to it.

Yes Greg that is the trick display as topics not posts. The thing that annoys me the most is the scrolling bars on the picture posts. I found that reducing the picture size to 640 X 480 will also show the full picture without scroll bars.

How are things Greg I still owe you a phone call.

Mark,
Absolutely the most annoying item with the updated site. With large picture posts and especially with multiple pictures it's real tough to read text in the post. Start reading, scroll all the way to the bottom to the scrolling bar, scroll over, go all the way back to the top to read more, then back to the bottom..... and by this time I've usually lost where I was reading the sentence!!

A nice feature of photobucket is that all pics can be resized at once.

Howdy Mark and Jo!

You don't owe us anything, kind sir. Actually, you did call and we weren't here. We might have been here having lunch if we hadn't spent all day Saturday staring at the lake through the rain.

Owe was probably the wrong word. Should have said must talk to you soon and catch up. Can listen to that funny accent all day.

The only thing with photo bucket is that when you move or delete the picture they disappear in the old posts.

This is a guy who travels over 9500 miles to attend some boat reunion with a bunch of Correct Craft Fanatics and then tells us we talk funny. The nerve of some people.

Lewy do you ever check your email? I sent you one while back and never got a response.

Pete, if you have a scroll wheel on your mouse, push down on the wheel and hold over the photo, it will now scroll the photo left/right just like using the bar wayyyy down at the bottom.

Best thing to do is just get a Picasa Account through google and use that.

If you do not have the scroll wheel on your mouse, just click on the picture and then use the Left/Right arrow keys to move the pictures and text back and forth.
