I am on the hunt for either a Correct Craft bucket seat (as found in Southwinds) or a vintage SN drivers seat. This is for my interior redo for my '76 Southwind. Upholstery condition or color not important. Just needs to be in good structural shape.

Thanks!

Dave

Dave, what kind of bucket are you looking for? Im not sure what would have been original in a mid-70's SW.

If youre looking for one of these, I think you'll have a very hard time finding any. Ive resorted to building a mold and will pop a few our for my Skier before too long. I know there is some interest here, so depending on the cost and effort involved in making them, I may be able to offer them up to others.

Tim....here are some pictures of a '79 Southwind bucket seats, however, they seem different than what I remember of the bucket seats in my old '83 Southwind B/R. But, thats the basic style I am looking for.

Also I have attached some seats I have been tracking on ebay. I also thought about building a mold, but, for a one off, I dediced it was cheaper to buy even though it wouldn't be an original Correct Craft part. I just threw the MasterCraft link in for grins and giggles. Too new, and the wrong brand for my purposes. However, that Rinker style looks interesting.

In your searches, include Regal.      The early Regals used the exact same seat.    And if memory serves there was two different versions.      Like the Southwind pic and one with lower sides.

Thanks for the advice. I do think that my old '83 Southwind had lower sides to it vs. the SW seats pictured here. The lower sided version is more along the lines of what I would like to find.

So, do you just need one?     And does it have to match one that you have?

Al....Yes, just need one. Would prefer to keep it in an original Correct Craft seat vs. buying a generic bucket seat. Let me know if you have one. I will re-upholster, so it doesn't have to match.

Send a picture and price to dgwinn390@hotmail.com if you have something.

I just found a picture of my old '83 Southwind 20. You can get an idea of the bucket seat size on the drivers side, even though the picture is partially obstructed.

Four, counting the SN driver bucket.   Five, counting TRBeng style.

What I have is not original, but very, very close to the SN drivers bucket.

Here's what I have:

Style A

Style B

Style B, was made from a style A.
So, I could turn the A into a B, for a matched pair.

Al....Nice work! Of the two, I prefer style A, but would like to still try and find something with the more pronounced sides/arm rests. May not be a game breaker though. How much do you charge for the shell? Do you also have the foam?

By the way, is that your Southwind in the picture? If so, what year is that?

No foam or vinyl.
The southwind pics came from the diaries section.

Have you looked at the seats from Overtons?

Yes, I have checked out many retailers bucket seats, but, they all want BIG $$$$. So, I keep looking until I find something in my price range. I don't want to put too much into the seat, especially because I am going to have to re-upholster the seat anyway.

I did just find this seat on ebay. Its a shell from West Surplus. Still fairly pricey for just a shell, but, it does include shipping. But, it may be something that would work for me. I like the shape.

Al....I have not seen these before. However, that shape is about what I am looking for. Thanks for the lead.

By the way, I meant to contact you to ask what you charge for your shells (Style A). I have not made any purchases yet.
