Lewy - I had same result. 470 was not quite enough pitch for our ballast range (600-800 lbs). The 1422 is a great prop for the '89.

You could get a similar prop, yours would just be a different pitch. I'm assuming you have the 1:1 transmission, where most 89 and newer boats have the 1:23. I also happen to have a 1:1 (rare for a 93), so we're in the same... boat I believe the ACME 540 is closer to what you'd want instead of the 1442 for your transmission. That is, as long as it would clear, diameter wise with your hull. Others would know more about that though. |
