Keegan,
I got your email via the site. The problem however is replying to a email via the site requires the sender to have a email address listed in their profile. If you hit "reply", it goes back to Keith!!!! I've made the mistake a couple of times! Keith is working on the issue. Your plan is sound. 12 oz. glass and tape in general but you can go to 4oz or 6oz. on the both sides of the plywood. Biax isn't bad but it does require more resin and isn't easy to form around corners like cloth. I guess I'm on the old fashioned side and say cloth is fine. The ideal screw for boat building is silicon bronze but pricy. You will see that lots use SS but if they get wet and stay wet they rust!! If you do go SS, make sure they are sealed/epoxied and don't get the "cheap" deck screws from the home center. But, I suggest using the screws only for holding the ply down (or weights if that will do it - test first) until the epoxy cures. Remove the screws and CPES/epoxy the holes. |
