Hello Fellow Correct Craft Fans.

I own A 1972 Correct Craft Skier and am currently in the process of doing some cosmetic work on her. I would appreciate any help or info on locating Rub Rails, Original Teleflex speedo and Tach, and Correct Craft side emblems. I also am in need of a Carb, old one leaks. Current carb is a Carter AFB 4barrel on a 220hp 302 Conqueror. Should I convert to a Holley or stay with original type carb? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appereciated.   Thanks.

Why not re-build the carb you have ?

I'd keep the AFB. I think you will be happy with it. Holley makes a popular carb but take a look at how much tinkering people on this site do with their Holleys - myself included. I wish I had an AFB.

AFB's are easier to rebuild and dial in.

I bought my teleflex off of Ebay, and the rubrail found it at a sporting goods store in Birmingham. Have you got any pictures of your 72 yet?

i rebuilt the carb twice still leaks. I am obviously not a mechanic. Had a "real" mechanic rebuild it once still leaked. I guess I will try it again myself. Want to keep boat as original as possible. thanks for the input. Any help with the aluminum rub rails?

S.A.
I'm with you on the "keep it original". I'm having trouble making myself cut a hole in the dash for a speedo simply because the boat didn't come with one from the factory. I have bought the speedo, the hole cutter, and I just look at it setting in the box. My girlfriend calls it the Monk syndrome.

Jim,

Mounted my old teleflex speedo in a piece of clear plexiglass and hot glued it to dash. Only had to drill one small hole in dash for air tube. Looks pretty cool sitting up high, kinda like a tach in a drag car. I am trying to get pics up in this site. My computer is not wanting to uplink photos.

Jim,
Do it! It won't hurt the dash. Need help? I fly into JSC often from VA

Climbhigh, that sounds like a sunken float in your carb, although it could be several other things as well. Did you check your floats to make sure they were not leaking?

To Jim in Houston.

Know what you mean about cutting up dash for speedo. Here is a suggestion I've done twice. If the speedo is still in the box and can be returned, buy one that has a chrome housing and deck mount. They look real nice. I'm guessing you can still get them, although its been about 20 years since I did it last.
