while i have my floor off, i would like to replace my mufflers w/ pieces of stainless steel pipe.
i'm thinking if i am up at 5:30a for a few ski runs w/ my friends, the entire lake should enjoy the sound of my boat a little more.

my 76 mufflers appear to be about 40 inches long, and 3 inches outside diameter. (or should i say inside diameter of the flex exhaust tubes?)

anybody know what gauge steel i should be looking for, and where best place to find them?

thanksomuch!

16 gauge (.065") is fine and very common. Make sure you get 304 stainless and not one of the 400 series cheap "muffler" grades.

Jim,
Yes, tubing size is always by OD and then of course the ID is governed by the wall thickness. So, you want 3" x 16ga.

Hmmm

My 176 has no muffler and just yesterday I found myself looking for mufflers.
