Still no name,
The front commonly called the observers seat or the aft rear seat? Since you lost it, I think you may be looking for the rear since it's just a snap in pad(s). Foam and upholstery.

I think Pete is wondering if youre looking for the whole seat (aluminum frames, hinges, seat bottom cushion, seat back cushion) or just part of it.

More so how was it lost! Drop it in the lake?

I could see the rear being blown out going down the highway but not the observers seat. I'm curious more than anything.

Okay...so here is the entire story...we had a finally got the boat ready for summer...then it rained unexpectedly hard over night...so I opened the engine cover and took out the drain plug to drain the H2o out of the boat. Then we had an unexplained electrical issue...boat ran fine 4 days earlier but would not get power when I was trying to test a new speaker I had installed...turned out to be a fuse that was blown, but didn't look like it...so I had to call the local boat mechanic over to find the bug...125.00 bucks later he found the problem stated above...then we a garage sale in 100 degree heat...so we decided to go put the boat in the water to cool off...when we got the boat in the water it still wouldn't start...did I mention that after all that I forgot to put the PLUG back in the boat!!!! Good thing it not start cause we would have been sinking in hte middle of the lake...OK still with me...finally we got the boat on trailer I took the seat out to see if there was something shorting out at the battery...left the seat on the dock..after we got the out of the water I drove away with the seat on the dock!!!! It was a terrible day to say the least...and I'm still in the dog house...the scary thing is that I'm a Merchant Marine...I drive boats for living!!!!!! This little Natique is winning the war easily! I can still hear it laughing at my dumb ass everytime I start the engine! Now I have to sit on the floor...talk about insult to injury!!!!!

Sorry to hear about the ordeal. Have you thought about posting local notes around town and offering a reward? Someone got it! Keep you eyes open on ebay - maybe it will pop up for sale?

BTW, add your first name to your profile so I don't have to call you "no name" again!

The more you hang around the site, the more you'll realize that most go by first names rather than screen names. Stick around! get some pictures and some text submitted for the diaries.

Good luck finding the observers seat.

Peter,

Look in the parts for sale section. There is a guy in Florida ( near Gainesville) who has boat parts from 1981 (same as 80) to late model for sale. He may be able to hook you up. His name is Don and his number is 352-258-4999. Screen Name is SSID SKI. The post is titled Used Nautique Parts.

I hope this helps,

Donald

Excellent story!

Here's a thought. Drag both sides of the dock where the seat was left, with a grappling hook. Chances are someone drop kicked it, after watching you pull away without it.

I knew a marina owner that would drop kick batteries if anyone would happen to leave one on the dock.

AT- Thanks for the heads up...funny enough I just did that...not the drag part cause you can see the bottom where I set the seat. I also drove around like a stalker looking in the back of pickups and trying to peer into other boats. Hopefully it will turn up, but I'm having some serious doubts!

Cheers, have a great fourth!
