Thanks Jody. I have a set of 4-bolt caps from the frozen block I replaced. Like Gary said though, it'll have to be line bored after the drill and tap.

I did see where main studs really beef up a 2-bolt on some Chevy forums; do you agree? I loaned out my picker so I don't have the machinist's opinion yet. Hopefully it's in as good of shape as I think it is. I'll give you a call when I see what's in the mail.

I wonder if the machine shop can clean it up...I hate to be upsetting newbies.

let me know how the gear to gear cam set works after you line bore that block and move the crank gear closer to the cam gear, always excited when someone tries something new

Bearings are made for a turned crank...why not for turned bosses?

At some point I'll pull the engine to work on the hull. There's no telling what might happen with all those BB parts mixed together.
