A bear can climb a tree on it's own. Climbing a ladder is easy for a bear.
I had a bear walk under my deer stand, and unfortunately it was while I was bow hunting. Thank god it didn't try to climb up. |

i shoot a single shot 375h&h so i am guessing i would shoot, miss the bear and then simultaneously crap and piss my pants (i know for a fact this is possible, because its the same thing that happens when you fall out of a man lift @ 20' above ground) while scrambling to reload. i hope the stench and comotion would scare the bear off.
