Bottom Paint Peeling

I was feeling around under my boat and noticed some paint peeling away from the bottom of my 49 utility (plywood finished in Mahagany)leaving the wood exposed. It's an area about the size of my hand.

Is repainting the area something that requires immediate attention, or could I expect to finish out the summer.
