Wow, I can't even imagine how one might get
in that situation with a ski boat. I'd love
to read that story in the paper.

What's the last thing a red neck says before he dies?

Hey y'all...watch this.
_____________
“So, how was your weekend?”
“Well, let me see…sun burn, stiff neck, screwed up back, assorted aches and pains….yup, my weekend was great, thanks for asking.”

Shoot, that is nothing. Here in Austin, about 6 months ago, a guy let his mid 50's beutifully restored boat get sucked through the flood gate of a dam. He went with it, but his wife was pulled to safety at the last minute. The guy surfaced 50 yards or so downstream mostly unhurt but minus all his clothes. The boat disentigrated.

Apparantly, he was too close to the dam and his engine quit. Talk about a wild ride.

David, I didn't know you were in Austin. Ever make it to Canyon Lake? Ever seen the hole in the water close to the dam? That thing gives me night mares. It looks like the swirly hole in your bathtub when you let the water out. (That's where I did my check out dive - the water was muddy black and all I could think was that darn hole in the water.) I'm surprised no boats get caught in it. It really sux about the Oasis. Are they going to rebuild it? Well, this is a CC site so I better say something about CCs: Lake Austin seems like a great place for a CC.

Jim:

Nope, I have never been on Canyon Lake, that I can remember. I live less than a mile from the Pennybacker bridge over Lake Austin, so I spend a great deal of time on that lake. However, my mother has a house on lake Travis, so we end up there most often. We also visit Inks lake a time or two per year.
