Ok I'm completely confused. Anyone who is checked out my posts knows my engine conversion saga. I've purchased a southwind with a 360 chrysler that has never run in the boat, being a failed automotive to marine conversion. I've bought a marine 318 chrysler. The manifolds are on the engine but no risers. I have the complete cooling system from the engine that was in the boat and I am planning on using the risers and elbows, and put then on the new engine's manifolds. My question is gaskets. The gaskets that are on the running engine have a hole in the top to pass water from the copper tube in the top of the manifold. The gaskets on the non running engine that came in the boat have only the large whole to pass the exhaust through. I believe I need gaskets with the water holes but I'm not sure. I've looked through the osco catalog and I'm even more confused. This is the last thing I need to conquer before the motor side of this project is done. Chrysler guys?????

Well I am having the same prob. As a mater of fact it is the same engine. There seems to be many different ways to be cool with a 318. I think the plan to feed the water in the bottom rear of the manifold plug the upper front and let the water flow to the brass tube and out the tube to the risers and on out the exaust is the best plan I have heard. What does every body else think.
