Mines still out at home. At least ComEd improved the estimated repair time. They are now saying around 11:30 tonigt instead of noon on Friday. Time will tell if they get it.
AT&T's generator on the VRAD must have run out of gas. I didn't have any service this morning. |

Joel,
You wouldn't be getting any sleep in my neighborhood ether. Last evening, all you could hear is the drone of the generators running. Everyone must have run out and got them!! |

Steve, You guys that live out in the "sticks" can do just about anything and get away with it!! BUT, keep in mind that this double throw switch should be SE (service entrance) rated and match the service rating into your shop and house. (200 amp?) If above the 200, they get big time expensive!!!$$$$ Also being outside it needs to be Nema 3R rated. Stick with the boat projects before you need to ask Pam for more money. We'll get into some details at GL!!! |

OMG, I'm back up on the grid!! Thank you ComEd or at least for the time being - I'll see if it holds out until tomorrow!! The boys must have had a shorter than normal safety meeting this morning! How many times do they need to tell there people that they are dealing with high voltage??

I just got back up at noon. I know 1 CE guy, they are working 16 hour shifts. He works out of Mt Prospect, and in Skokie right now and their putting them up in motels. I actually fixxed one phone line in the past 3 days. All our trouble has been either the customers electric is out and they only have cordless phones or our battery back up has run out or we have brought in generators and everything is working now when you get there. We had 1300 vrads or cev's down. Here's the new generators that were bought just for this trouble, nice turbocharged diesel JD's bought in Indiana. You think that was for tax reasons???
