Yea...after seeing your pump that is not the right one. I am not sure which one is correct. Who marinized the engine?

Sorry, marinized? googled it and dictionary.com'd it whats that mean?
Another one for the books. ![]() its a 351 ford marine engine. I'm guessing the RWP is what came from correct craft 40 years ago. |

anyway I can search, I've looked and just wanted to know if this was unavailable before I wasted much more time. I read where some folks had to go with other options due to unavailability of type.

Paul, In order to find an impeller for that pump, you have to ask for a Volvo impeller. They, (Volvo) still use the splined pump shaft.
It's the gaskets that have become next to impossible to find. I make my own. The alternative would be a new brass pump, which is very expensive and the pump mount base has to be altered so that you can use your same pulley. |

yea, the red is from some yea-hoo with a rattle can... bolts, harnesses, hoses, tranny, everything. what a mess!
I'll have it all clean in the end. @ DrCC: I'm getting pretty good at the gaskets. seems to be better when not rushed. |

I'm still curious as to who's marinization it is. BTW, it would be common to find almost everything painted from the marinizer. Don't assume it was a PO with a aerosol can of paint. It was common practice for them to bolt on all the marine parts and spray everything. Typically the only exception would be the carb, distributor, plugs and wires. |

hmmmm, painted that way by a pro? That would've never occured to me. you can see the original Ford blue in spots they missed.
How could you tell who marinized it? I just figured it came marinized from the CC boat building place. It said Mfg. by THERMO ELECTRON ENGINE CORP Detriot, Mich on the Correct Craft sticker on the valve cover. |

Correct Craft has never marinized their own engines. At least not on the 60's and newer boats (someone else more knowledgable can speak to the older ones). They now get their engines from Pleasurecraft Marine (PCM). They used to get engines from Commander, Chrysler, Interceptor, OMC, etc. Conquerer/Crusaders and Palmers were closely related in the early 70's, as they were owned by Thermo Electron at the time (Dr CC will correct me if I goof that up again).
Marinization companies usually design and install their own cooling, ignition and exhaust systems, as well as the brackets used to mount accessories. They generally include the transmission as part of the powertrain package as well. Most of these items (thermostat housings, brackets, exhaust manifolds) were unique between the different companies. It sounds like you have a Palmer, but a picture would confirm. |

There were two separate companies using the same name "Crusader". 1. The International Harvester/Palmer Marine/Thremo-Electron/Crusader. 2. The Cal Connell Cadillac Marine/Conqueror-Crusader. |

There were Thermo-Electron Conqueror Crusaders, right? Not sure if thats consistent with what you just said or not.
Here's what Im calling a Palmer... note the same thermostat housing and "Model 220" decals. I had thought that both Palmer and Conquerer Crusader were Thermo Electrons. |

Never to my knowledge as well. My 54 is actually a Chris marinization painted red (not Chris blue) and tagged as a Correct Craft. It's just a "private labeling". |

Correct. So, a "Correct Craft" labeled engine could be either a Palmer or a Thermo-Electron. (in the 70's) I believe some white Escorts also were labeled CC.
