My propeller shaft does not drip. I am wondering if this is tightened to tight, and would this cause a whining noise during acceleration. I have a 93 ski nautigue and would like to replace the packing, could you tell me what size I need. Thank you.

If you didn't just overnighted it, Leave it alone.
Mine hasn't dripped in 8 years, The whining it likely the pcm transmission, its just what they do. |

I sort of agree with Tom about leaving it alone but, also feel you should have some drips. Is the packing gland running cool? |

Do stick your hand down there and check the temp. The danger with running the packing too tight is scouring the prop shaft to a point where it's no longer usable.
