I finally joined this site because nearly every Google search leads me here for my questions! I even had a Correct Craft employee refer me here to answer my trailer questions. I bought a 95 Ski Nautique 19' recently and have enjoyed every moment of it. There are a few things that I wish I knew before the purchase: the transmission cable had been redone (poorly) and wasn't always shifting into neutral. I was stranded my first time out, thinking the starter relay had gone out not knowing about the neutral safety switch.   I repaired the shift cable and it works much better.

Other surprise: I didn't know there was a cooler in the floor in front of the engine. The pull knob had been taken off (later found in the cooler) so my first time cleaning the boat I opened the cooler and found VERY old and nasty beer bottles, chew cans, etc.

Now for the expensive fix: The trailer is rusting from the inside out. It was repainted before I bought it so I didn't notice anything odd right away. Now it is rusting through and it's only a matter of time before I have a serious problem. I don't see many options for used trailers so I'm pricing out new ones. Any suggestions? I am in Cleveland, TN so BoatMate is just up the road. I'm currently quoting a single axle with brakes that is pushing $4000. Is this what I should be prepared to spend? I passed up a 2008 Ramlin built for CC on ebay for $2750 because I didn't get a good answer if that would work with my hull in time.

Hawktique had a trailer for sale a few weeks ago.   He is in new Delhi. His may have been for a sport or a super air, but worth checking Look in the parts/gear for sale sections.   Since others with nautiques also frequent other sites like planet nautique and wakeboarder, you may check their classifieds as well.   I am partial to this site for information on for repairs etc. but would check the other sites for classifieds too.

Watch craigslist for trailers, they come up pretty often. You can use a multi-city search like crazedlist to check lots of areas at one time. I found a pristine 2005 ramlin single axle for my 2001 that had been used only one time for 1000 bucks, but I had to drive 600 miles to get it. They're out there, but you have to be ready to jump on the deal though, they usually sell quickly.

Thanks for all of the advice! I have been looking for used for a month or so with no luck. Finally bit the bullet and ordered a new BoatMate.
