Just wondering what others think needs to be on the boat...Not the stuff everyone keeps on board (fenders ,vests ,lines ,inflatable dolls etc)But the things that you always have with you in case you need it!!!Spare parts...tools...what ever!

The other half of the case!

Syring for the pitots... I like that!

Extra boat plug anyone? If (God forbid)and it
happens...you pull away and forget to put the plug in...you won't find the one sitting in the bilge...A friend told me that and once I found out he was rightnow I carry an extra.
I keep some 400 & 600 grit wet and dry sand paper...for any corrosion on elect. connections.

Dude, I never leave my plug down in the bilge, the potential for it to slide back under the transmission when backing down the ramp is too high (should I forget to install it) and you'll never find it when you discover you have water comming in. I always put it by the left fwd engine mount, there's a nice depression area there for it to sit in, and it's easy to get a quick visual status on the plug situation.

One would hope that the beer is after the day is done. Don't jepordize my family who is out sking and boarding cause you want to drink a few while your doing the same. Beer is always welcome in my boat but ONLY after all sking is done and the end of the day is near. Just my 2 cents worth.

Morfoot...lets assume those of us who drink beer are doing so responsibly! So...what do you carry on the boat?

I keep a couple belts...impeller...spare plug...hose clamps....certain tools that I would use more the others!

Anyone have something most of us have not thought of?

Duct Tape. Extra Key hidden (when I had keys). Portable spotlight. Sufficient rope
should I need a tow. Couple of extra pins and setscrews for the bimini. Some extra fuses. Swim goggles (if I wrap something around the prop). Jimmy Buffet "Songs You Know by Heart"
(if you only carry one CD, that's the one). My wife's ski equipment never leaves the boat (those who are married will know why this is a good idea )

Cell phone...yup! But you know the rules...answer the cell and you loose a turn in the ski rotation

Duct tape...sure why not ..."The world is held together with duct tape , bungie cords and super glue"

Stang.... I'm not implying that you drink irresponsable. Just be careful!!...... I had a bud who was out riding jet skis a month or so ago who was injured. He was on one while his mother-n-law and his 2 girls were on another one. They had one or 2 because they just tasted good on a hot day. Running down the lake she turned towards him (not seeing him because of spray) and T-boned him. Oldest daughter jumped off swam over to her dad who was face down. Turned him over and was horrified to see blood coming out of his mouth. Drug him to shore via jet ski, life flighted him to a hospital with a collapsed lung and 7 broken ribs. Had to cut into abdominal muscles to remove lesions on lungs caused by broken ribs.....NOW I don't know for sure that a beer or two is what did it but it makes me wonder if it was and was it worth it. It hits a little close to home if you know what I mean. I feel so bad not only for the daughter who turned over her dad and saw what she did but the Mom in law who almost killed her son in law.........

That is why I made the comment I did. Beer is always welcome on the boat but in small quantitites( preferably bud light or corona)but KNOW YOUR LIMITS!!!

I like the superglue idea!!

Holeshot-

You realize you just jinxed yourself don't you. I carry a small tool box, literally just two screw drivers, wrench and pliers. Has gotten me home a couple of times. (although it didn't do me much good the night my shaft sheared off right behind the strut - oh the humiliation of being towed in by a deck boat)

I ran into shallow water and my strainer plugged up with mud. I had to get out of the boat and pull it out of the mud. I had to remove my intake hose to clean it out. If I hadn't had a screw driver I would still be missing in action. One another outing my main fuse holder just broke for no apparant reason, the the fuse fell out onto the floor. Duct tape got me going then. The older you get the more you realize you own mortality and the more crap you carry.

Unless I missed it, Ive used a test light as much as anything else. On the beer subject, more than a few, kick back, idle, and enjoy!

I agree with the idle thing. My cc sounds awsome (to me) when idling. Just a little cam lope..... I can idle around until the beer runs out (or until someone passes in a shiny new boat and I have to once again speed test my little 289). Know what I mean?

well i have to admit i have gone thrugh the boat from front to back and back agin and the boat is on a 36 acer lake that ive been living on for 25 years . and i forgot that i had a screw driver in the boat so that i can take the fuel line off to prime the fuelpump to get me back in . but really
this ol girl has given me little trouble at all .
no lost props broken fuse holders bad key swicthes or any thing like such . but i do maintain and service the heck out of the boat like crazy in the 2 short months that they call
winter in fl . magority of the time running out of gas has made me have to swim the boat in more than any thing else . knock knock
