Ive been looking for some parts for my 64 American Skier most of the summer with no luck. Does anyone know of any bonyards for boats anywhere?

The really bad thing is another 64 'skier just sold on ebay with an original CC trailer for $500! BUT as usual it was 2500 miles away.

There must be some used parts somewhere!?!? Ive tried SECC..with no luck..

Anyway if anyone has any leads on yards anywhere,or complete "basket cases" in the midwest....hmmmm...maybe should start a new topic on just baskets? Thanks for any help! ,Steve

Not to be moribund, but Katrina has and will
create lots of boat salvage. The insurance
companies should be auctioning/selling for
pennies on the dollar.

I've done internet searches in the past for
"boat recycling" "boat salvage" "Parts Boat"
and others and have come up with a number of
salvage operations. In the west, boatrecycling.com is a good one. Cooperss.com, and boatsalvage.com, are a couple of others I remember.

We have a boneyard locally but most everything here on the Gulf coast is fishing boats, with outboards or the commercial stuff.

I check this site regular, these cats deal in all types of salavge boats, not just hurricane related. w But with most of Alabama all of Mississippi and parts of LA trashed by Katrina, I am sure a few CC's will pop up.

82,
I didnt start this post because of the storm...I didnt realize the severaty of the situation at that time. I certainly have NO INTENTION of capitolizing from others mis-fortunes.
I think we're finding out daily that most of the damage wasnt from the actual storm, but rather its after affects.....all I was trying to do was find a few old boat parts........

Ughhhh, I had no intent of causing anger here. 62 asked for a source for salvage parts. I suggested a couple of sites that
I've seen over that last couple of years. Right or wrong, the fact is, most of these boats came from hurricane damage. I can understand that the timing has many people very sensitive, and if I have offended then I apologize.

62wood, I certainly didn't mean to throw you under the bus. These sites existed long before Katrina or your post.

82nautique, I think you've read intentions into these posts which don't exist. Again,
If I have offended you then I apologize.

I am located in north Florida (Talahassee)Having gone though 4 hurricanes last year alone, + hurricane Dennis this year, plus 14 inchs of rain from Katrina, I feel like I can relate to whats going on. I can say that salvage boats (cars, houses etc..) are just a fact of life after something like this. If anybody here REALLY feels like helping, open your wallet give a few hundred to the red cross. Thats the first people I see after a hurricane. The people in New Orleans are'nt looking for someone to feel sorry, they just want some relief! ... but just my $.02 I AM SURE NO ONE HERE IS LOOKING TO MAKE $$ FROM SALAVGE BOATS, but their will be opptunities to pick up some JUNK boats for parts to keep these older CC going. Good luck and God's speed to those seeking his help, Todd

Yeah, I do the "Ebay search" every night. Have gotten a few "generic-type" parts that way, but Im still looking for the windwings on the end of the windshield, and the American Skier dash emblem. Those are pretty specific to the Correct Crafts of that era....

I did just buy a lot of spare Interceptor engine and trans parts on ebay last week... patience is the key I guess....
