I have a question regarding the stern area above the gas tank on a1977 correct craft Ski Tique. I have a blower sitting on the gas tank it is not attached to anything. It does blow air when flipping the blower switch. There is also 1 hose attached to the hole that goes thru the hull on the left nothing is attach to the hole on the right. Could you tell me and/or show me a drawing/photo of where the hose and blower are supposed to go?

NG,
The blower should be attached to the hull. Flex is used to connect it's discharge to one of the "clam shell" deck vents. The other aft deck vent is for "static" ventilation when you are underway (boat moving). It sound like a PO was a real "hacker"!

Maybe a silly question, but are the blowers meant to blow fresh air into the bilge, or extract air from the bilge?
I have 3 in the Martinique and 2 blow in and sucks out. |

Mine is in the bilge and blows out, but I think it could work either way, since it's a closed system. I would think that the act of blowing out creates a vacuum under the engine cover. There are vents under windshield that guide air in while under way, I think air would get pulled in through here with the blower on. |

Fuel vapors are heavier and settle in the lowest part of the bilge. The "correct" direction of flow would remove these vapors by suction rather than by displacement . Return air is supplied by the etrior vent and hosing into the bilge. In with the good , out with the bad....Billy

Anybody know what capacity the blowers are? Just tested mine after the winter and apart from a howl of suspect bearings there doesn't seem to be the airflow I expected.
