I recently purchased a "project boat" (more to come on that) ... a 1994 SN with 640 hrs. that runs like a dream! This will be my first winter with the boat and am planning to have it winterized and shrink wrapped (must store outside). Does anyone have a recommendation for service in the Denver, CO area. I am looking to develop a relationship with a service department as I am planning on doing a complete restoration of this boat over time (Great Lakes Marine is the CC dealer here). Thanks in advance and I am looking for the definitive source ...

I would reccomend The Colorado Boat Center in Loveland 970-663-6473 Tom Smith has been a solid dealer in the Denver area for years. I worked with them when I worked for Skier's Choice (Supra and Moomba Boats) Dan in Service can help you.

Brian,
Be very careful with the shrink wrapping. It has become very popular in recent years but, there are also some "horror" stories that go along with the process. Big time mold and mildew due to the boat being sealed up. A good shrink wrapper will install proper venting.

Not the 'W' word already!

You are planning ahead here, right? There's still months of skiing weather to come, even in Colorado!

Hey Chris, yup, I'll be taking the last week of this month off to go do it!! I just don't get that much time off to do it later in the season and my putting the boats away at that time has been pretty traditional. A trip up with the fuel prices the way they are is about a $200 expenditure for me! Yes, I get plenty of flack from HW and CQ for the early "W" word!!!! This trip up will also include checking for a bent strut and or shaft as well after the son trashed the prop!!! I guess I'll have to view my own video a few times to remind the old memory about the process!!

Speaking of time off, it sounds like you will have plenty of time - want to come over and help out?

BTW, it sounds like Chris (storm) will finally be going over to Crandon to pick up the Chris Craft. It may work out that he will stop by the house and shop on his way back to Iowa! That would be fantastic since it always fantastic to see part of the family.

Thanks for the replies and I think I have it figured out ... I have elected to go with the local CC dealer (Great Lakes Marine) ... they instilled confidence in helping me get my boat protected and ready for next season.   I hated to use the "W" word but need to plan ahead ... the last week of September will be it for my new boat! I will get pics up soon! Thanks again.
