So I finally got my steering cable after waiting over a month for the dealer to order it (long story).
I ordered the SSC12420 and when it came in I messured it side by side with my old one. It was exactly 1/2 foot longer just like I expected (they don't made half foot incriments anymore). Other than that, they were identical. Here is a picture of the two racks side by side. It went right in and only took me 15 min to get it hooked up and bolted in. I don't have a comparison for original rudder throw but this looks very resonable to me. Anyone following this thread that might be in this situation in the future, my old cable froze at the fullty extended position. I extended my new cable and checked the distance it traveled and they were the same. |

Glad to see you got it sorted and did not use that second hand cable when the new was so reasonably priced.

It looks like you got it squared away and I'm late to the party. But, this picture should help a little bit. It basically says if you have a 93-97 you have to look at the end of your cable to see which one you have. My understanding, is that at one point in time, the original style cable was not available, so someone would have to have had changed the cable and helm to the wider style. So, you really won't know what you have unless you are the original owner, without looking at the cable.
