1974 Century Resorter

   What would you guys say is a reasonable site unseen trade value on a 74 Century Resorter with a 302.  Painted over the gel.  Haven't seen it guy says "its nice". Not original trailer.  He wants to trade out to a pontoon boat.  Says if he could get 5k he would let it go.  Im thinking more like 2k with the possibility of 3k if it checks out fine.

	2-3 sounds about right. Who knows what it looked like under before if it has been painted.

	Is it a 16 or an 18? IMO the 16s weren't as good as the 18's as they were stubby with a flat bottom. Century did not make trailers, so none of them are original. Any decent boat is worth 2-3K. Post some pics if you can get them.

	Both of my lake buddies are running 18's and 440's.

	302?? Seems light for a Resorter. Probably a 16'. There is no sight unseen numbers on any boat. Century's do demand some decent cash, but only the pics would say... Could be a $5K boat all day, and could be junk at the same time.. Ask if the boat was repowered... Moj'

	I agree, 302 doesn't sound right. Most of the 16's and Cheetahs had the 318. Although I think some of the earlier Cheetahs had an interceptor, I've never seen an early-70's Century that didn't have a Chrysler. I flipped thru the 1975 Century catalog we got new with ours, to agree with Zach, the Resorter 16 page says "still utilizing the flat-V running bottom" but no engine specs. The Resorter 18 page says "accomodating engines through 330 hp" For a point of reference my 75 Mark II (16'7") has a Chrysler 360. The 18 is a great boat, looked at a few before I bought the Southwind. However the Resorter windshield is a bit big for summer boating in Georgia, whereas opening the SW windshield on a hot day is one of its greatest features.

	I had a friend that had a brand new '73 Resorter 16 that had a 340 Chrysler in it. He totaled it the summer he got it. The next summer he had the exact same boat, but a 74 with a 360 in it. Also had a friend with a 73 Resorter 18 with a 440 that got his the same time. The 16 footer could handle really eradic at times.

	The last Resorter i was in was much newer a 92 with 250hp mercruiser and it was plenty quick; and my friend has a georgeous 72 Coronado (georgeous cause it doesn't have the gaudy hardtop) with a 440 which has plenty of get-up-and-go for an almost 22-footer, so a Resorter with a 440 must really fly...
