87 Rear view Mirror Post Removal

   This might be a dumb question, but from the way my boat is hacked together, thought i would ask before taking the hammer to it.  How do you remove the vertical post on the dash that the rear view mirror is attached to in an 87 BFN.  It looks like it should just be a friction fit thru a hole drilled in the dash, and a reinforcing block below the dash.  I can't see any kind of set screw in the block under the dash (maybe its on the front side of the block).  Mine doesn't move, up or down, or rotate left or right.  the looks like there might be a bead of epoxy right where the tube penetrates the dash (could be a PO work, or could be factory don't know.  All I know is I don't want to bend it or crack the dash trying to He man it out of the dash.

	There is a triangular plate welded to the post. It has 3 screws through it that go up into that wood block from under the dash. It is not supposed to adjust up or down or left to right. That gasket from above might stay without the post, or you can peel it away.

	Cool, I must have missed it, I stuck my head down thru the glove box opening while I was sanding the dash getting it ready for polishing, and felt around the block with my hand, but didn't feel anything. Guess I'm crawling up underneath tonight. thanks,
