I have the opportunity to keep my boat on a swing mooring this summer. I've always kept the boat out the water so would have to get a new cover suitable for keeping the boat on the water. Also looking into whether or not I should have the underside of the hull painted to avoid gel blistering (fresh water)

Curious to know the collective view on bottom paint. Yes or No. I know painting would potentially hit the value of the boat, but gel blistering isn't going to add any value either.....

Fouling paint will do zero, nothing, to prevent blistering.

An epoxy barrier coat is the only thing to prevent osmotic blisters.

Interlux System 2000 interprotect is a good choice.

No, No, No Do not paint the boat. Pull it once a month and clean the pond scum off.

No bottom paint or anti fouling on mine.
She sits in the water at the marina all season.
I just pull her out every two - three weeks to clean the hull...

I totally agree with no bottom paint. I also agree with John that it will not prevent blistering and an epoxy barrier coat is needed for that. If someone told you bottom paint would prevent it, maybe you have a different product on that side of the pond!!
