I am restoring this 91 excel , big block :)
The steering wheel has a lot of play in it. When looking at the helm from underneath the dash, the cable seems to move ok, but the steering wheel rotates a few inches either way before engaging the cable. Something easy to check? Or do I need a new cable, helm..... It is a tilt helm. thanks! Mike |

Check the clamp block in the back, had that issue on the boat. It had worn down and wouldn't tighten down enough.
