   I know this is a dumb question, I have owned outboards and you could hook a water hose up to it. can you do this on a direct drive? If so how?

	You can get a fake-a-lake, or un-hook the hose to the hull pick and stick the end of the hose in it and tighten down the hose clamp so it doesn't make a mess. The pick-up is located too the left rear of the tranny as you face the bow. Or just follow the 1" hose from the transmission cooler to where it connects to the hull. Just don't but it in gear out of water you can mess up the bushings in the strut.

	I have a hose barb with a short piece of hose and a screw on water hose fitting on the other end. I just pull the hose off the strainer and stick it on to flush after a session or for running at the house.

	I tried the water hose and my engine sucked my water hose flat. I now fill the bilge with water, pull the hose off the strainer and let it lay in the bottom of the bilge while I run my engine. My water hose runs at full flow keeping the bilge filled. If the bilge gets too full the water reaches the top of the strainer and flows out onto the ground. I drop in a few drops of dish soap and the bilge gets cleaned (and bubbles blow out the exhaust)!
