Impeller for '92 Nautique Excel

I recently bought a '92 Nautique excel v-drive boat with a PCM 351 engine in it. I'm working on cleaning it up and getting it in good running shape but was wondering if anybody knows the proper impeller and fuel filter that is needed for this boat??


Also any other tips would be greatly appreciated!

I'm a new boat owner myself but my parents have had boats and I've grown up around the my whole life, it's a whole different story when you have to do everything on your own though!!

For your next impeller I would go with a Glob Stop run dry impeller. They are a silicone impeller and last for years. I replaced the one in My supra that was over 17 years old just because. I now keep it as a spare for me or anyone else I help. They are great, only $30 and last much longer than the rubber one which only go 2 seasons...

Are they really that good and will that fit my '92 351 proboss? I just changed mine, but that will be what I get next year.

Yes, they are that good! Let see, bought mine in 95. Back in 2006 I accidentally shut the hose off run running it in the driveway for about a min then realized it was off! Opened the pump after not checking on it since 95 and it was like new! But last summer I opened it up and decided to replace it. Its sitting in my glove box as a spare. It sat for 2 years unused in Comp (10-12, when I got the CC) and the splines are slowly straightening out. But last summer I bought 4 Impellers, My 2 boats, friends boat, and relatives boat. They all work great and prime quick. $30 a piece and out last the rubber ones by far.

Hamilton Marine, and E-Bay don't have free shipping. I found them on Hamilton Marine first so thats where i ordered. If I ever order more, Amazon is the way!

So what's the best way to figure out which impeller is best for my motor? I think I am going to order up one of these bad boys for a spare.

We used to have an '89 23 foot closed bow pirata. It was definitely a great boat with a lot of pull!!! Also, any idea what fuel filter for the '92 excel? I don't want to yank the old one out until I get a new one...

My 92 Excel had the standard Ford 351w Filter - Fram PH8A (I believe)....not that I EVER used it.....

From there you can cross -reference.

Those impellers have come and gone over the years,I believe the previous incarnation was called Barco,they disappeared when they had problems. I now always use the brand of impeller that makes the pump,I cannot afford to ruin this pump,there are no direct replacements for mine. I had a Barco impeller at one time they seem to wear quickly when run on a direct drive pump. I have also seen non oem impellers not work in pumps,soon as an oem one was installed it worked. Just ask Marty it cost him the whole day at one of the river runs
