When to change eng & tran oil?

Any arguments for changing the engine and transmission oil @ the end of the season when winterizing as opposed to the beginning of the season when un-winterizing? I got my boat last April and I'm doing it the latter way this time (since I didn't do it back in November). Just wondering if I should do it the other way around in the future.

The biggest reason for changing oil at the season's end is corrosion protection. Your engine oil breaks down during usage from heat, pressure and being exposed to the blow-by gases from combustion. As oils break down, acids form and over time can eat away at your engine's parts forming pits in the metal. Changing the oil and then allowing the engine to run several minutes allows the fresh oil to rinse away any old un-drained oil and provide a protective layer of fresh new oil to fight corrosion.

Of course, it wouldn't hurt to change it both times! hehe. Just a little more expensive.
