What a Day on the Lake!

Had an interesting day on the lake today. I headed to the opposite side of the lake for a short cruise by myself. I started to head for home when I gave the boat gas, it felt a little sluggish. Slowed down tried it again, same result. I opened the doghouse to find water completely filled in the bottom of the boat. It was above the top tier of the stringers and covered the bottom of the engine mounts, about 1/3 of the way up the engine itself. I flipped on the bilge, but it was coming in faster than it was going out. I dug around to find the impeller inlet hose had come completely undone. Luckily I keep a few tools in the boat. I put the hose back on and let the bilge do its' work. Needless to say, that got the blood flowing.

Anyway, I actually had a question about the accelerator pump issue I'm currently dealing with. I tested to see if the linkage was adjusted properly and the pump was actually squirting fuel when the plunger is depressed. The linkage looks to be perfectly adjusted. The pump also sprays fuel when depressed. I took off the linkage and manipulated the plunger by hand to see if I could get it to operate without accelerating. When I depress the plunger the engine almost immediately kills. Could this be a jet size issue? The pump also sprays in a cylindrical pattern, not a mist. Not sure if that is an issue. Any ideas?
