Yesterday afternoon on Lanier. Glass water. Me and the wife. Decided to adjust the speedos and calibrate vs GPS on the iPad.
Last few times she has pulled me it felt kinda fast. While I am sitting at the helm, adjusting the speedos, she asks me "what are those two gauges for", while pointing at the speedometers. I said "those are the speedometers...what have you been using?" She points at the tach. She has been pulling me going by the tach reading rather than the speedos! I gave her the "you dumba@$" look. She says "Well you go by the large gauge, in the middle, on your car for speed don't you?" Some of the things us husbands take for granted! |

Seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I told you I should have Robin drive instead of me when I'm in the boat!
Jim, next Lanier crew meeting be sure to remind me and we'll use Miss Scarlett's garmin to set the speedos to see how accurate the ipad is. |

I am so used to this that I know what the "thingy" is with at least a 90% accuracy rate just by the context, and that is in all situations, not just with the boat. |

For thousands of years men have felt the irresistible urge to go to sea, and many of them died. Things got better after they invented boats.

Sounds like a good driver to me! I use the tach, Airguides are too inconsistent.
