So we were out on Woof1 the other night. Mark is busy all week so I offered to do some tuning on the boat for some free footing. Since it was not my boat and I just had the carb apart I was at the helm which meant Tom was parking the truck. His girlfriends purse was stolen from her car and window shattered last week. My wallet didn't get tucked away in the truck since I wasn't parking it like usual.
Vince showed up with the Atom and I got a call from him and my credit card company at the same time. The douche bags went to Walmart with my card and the business card. My card only authorized like 100 bucks and the business card declined their two purchases. When they stole Abbeys stuff they were able to run up 1500 bucks before they shut hers down. Chase card services is somehow on the top of their game because I have been to that Walmart before but they must have tried to buy a bunch of stuff I never buy? Anywho, I got a call from a guy who found my wallet discarded in the McDonalds parking lot. There is a woodland trail between McDonalds and the boat ramp lot which is right where I thought those Goons were coming in at. More pissed off they F'd with my truck and broke the window and also pissed off that some loser who I probably already pay for in form of welfare is trying to screw up our nice little secluded get away in the middle of town. Heading back home tonight to install the new window then we are going to get creative and try to find these turds and have the coppers take them down town. Venting but I wish people would just leave other peoples stuff alone. I mean I work hard and have just enough money to afford to do the things I love and I take it pretty personally when someone tries to mess with that. Anywho, got a big river test and tune night planned. finally got my 540 fixed again, Gotta rip some carb pieces apart on Marks footer, throw a fuel pump and clean the anti-siphon valve on Teddys footer and hopefully everything will be golden. |

That stinks. Undoubtedly Wally world has camera's at checkout, should be pretty easy get an image of the culprit(s) and possibly identify them.
Gotta love the big city's, have been a victim of the smash and rob and also had my vehicle stolen, twice, unfortunately one of the times they returned it less a few key components. |

That sucks Zach, sorry to hear that. You should do your own police work and take them down outlaw style.

I told Tommy I wanted to use his truck as a bait car and lay in in the bed with a shot gun ;).
If the world were more outlaw style there would be a less crime. Nobody has any element of fear anymore. |

This really seems to be more and more the reality. No fear of getting their ass handed to them by a would be owner that catches them (cause I'll just sue their ass for medical expenses, pain and suffering) and DEFINITELY no fear from Law Enforcement/Justice system... I've had a couple of parking lot altercations, where the punks have tried to get in my face over stupid stuff, really trying to bait you into a fight, everytime I could have leveled the kid, but my sense was that is exactly what they wanted - its worth it to take a beating to come back with a high dollar lawsuit. Just walk away, walk away. Where have the morals gone... |

I feel the exact same way Steve. These people just get arrested and discharged because the jails are to full and they are back on the street again with no lesson learned.
Lessons taught the old school way are much more effective :). I'm pretty sure they wouldn't come around my truck anymore if the last time they did it they were run off by a crazy little white guy with a big loud shot gun ha. But then again they clearly aren't the brightest crayons in the box. |

I have used that tactic a number of times in situations where safety was in question, it is very effective! It is unfortunately, sad, that is the defense we are left with. |

Crazy always trumps tough.
Right up until I got married (mostly at least) I took care of business with "old school" logic. It's exteemely effective and satisfying to deliver swift justice. Ive realized overtime that I just love to fight, its built into my Irish/Mexican DNA, but to date it's got me in more trouble than what those guilty a-holes would have received if I had just let things run their course. With that said, I still live my life by the old "eye for an eye" perspective. But use your head and when you strike... strike hard. The way I see it they stepped into your world and made waves, doing nothing just gives them the thumbs up to do it again to you or someone else. You don't always have to shoot them to get your message across. |

This sucks....no other way to put it!
Dad had an attempted break-in on the Camaro in 2010? while we were having a beer with Quinner and HW at the Blackthorn. Some freaking idiot used a crow bar to try and pry the door open????? Never did try and report anything but it sucks someone screwed with his 'mid-life crisis' which is a fairly rare vehicle. Idiots. |

Sorry to hear Zach, really discouraging to work hard and do things the right way and have some idiot take stuff from you.
It's not just the big city - here we are in NH, and a friend's son had his wallet stolen at a conservation center parking lot. And, a rash of drive-by car break ins at a parking lot, smash the window, grab, and drive away fast. Police here have done a great job of slowing it down, which is one small city advantage as they can concentrate on a problem like this. |

For sure. Thanks dudes.
Got the window replaced last night no big deal other than sweeping out all the glass to prevent rattles. It's just stupid and with the way society is currently it will just keep getting worse. Guess that means we should all migrate towards lakes and live in little water sports cult communities ha. |

Some folks just broke into our house on monday while my wife was gone for 30 mins with the dog around noon...
Don't understand what these folks are thinking (Oh that looks nice and I'm sure the owner will not mind if I take it and trash the place while I'm there...) Besides the inner rage, I got realy ticked off that it took the cops over 30 mins to get to our house. After my wife called, I got there before the police did (10 min ride from work) and went in to see if there is someone still inside. Why do I pay city taxes? |

Dang that sucks Bro! I know your PO'd but hows the Mrs.? Is she still shaken up as it happened just after she left?
Then they wonder why citizens are becoming heavily armed at a high rate, shooting first and ask questions later. Seems to be happening more frequently and have the support of their communities for doing so. I for one am so sick and tired of this crap. We work hard to be able to buy nice things for our families and what gives the right for some POS to take it. Sorry Seb! Welcome to America! |

Seb, that is horrible. Hopefully they didn't take much. That was a pretty short window for them to get in and out, man if I was a criminal, I don't think I would go for that small of a window. Probably points to how desperate they were.
I hope you and wife are doing okay! |

That sucks Seb. If we keep paying people in this country to do nothing and not teaching the value of hard work and the rewards it brings crime and such will just keep getting worse.
Steve, You have to remember the short window is someone who isn't as intelligent as your average person(or maybe they are). I just assume the reason people commit crimes is because their brains do not operate at as high of an intelligence level as ours do. Their views of wright and wrong are skewed and they might decide that the punishment isn't as bad as the reward they get if they aren't caught. That's silly that the police took 30 minutes to get to a house with only a woman there not knowing if anyone was still inside. What exactly do you pay taxes for is right.. Oh wait, we pay taxes to pay people who won't work. Ahem, Government shutdown, cough cough welfare, cough obamacare...... |

Well that is certainly disturbing, thankfully they did not encounter each other, glad everyone is OK.
Is your area prone to this type of thing or is this an isolated incident?? |

Chris,
The area has no bad history ()all single family, good school, mostly older folks), but in the last 2-3 month 3 to 4 houses get hit around noon time every othe week. To me that looks like a pattern, but what do I know. No cruisers on the streets at that time, but you can see them on the highway ramps writing tickets.... Zach, I hear ya...that lake retreat you mentiooned in one post before sounds like a plan (but make it in the south, so we get a looong season). Yeah, glad all are safe but realy angry, since I know how long I put money asside for some of the stuff. And now we'll get robbed again by the insurance |

Neighbors down the street were cased last year. They went to work and bad guys went in and opened garage door. Pulled in a van and shut the door. Loaded up with what they wanted and drove away closing the door behind them. The next door neighbors were home and didn't know anything was up. Be glad it's just stuff.
