We are thinking about spending this Thanksgiving in the Orlando area. on or near a lake.
It's only a couple of hrs drive (I would bring the boat) and warmer than GA at that time of the year. Do you have any recomendations as to where to look and find a rental? |

Lake Beresford which is on the St. John's river has some rental houses. Or you can rent one on the river. check out VRBO.com. Look up the town of Astor. This is where we have the St. John's River Run Nautique reunion every year and is a great place. About an hour and 20 minutes from Disney. Parramore's Fish Camp is where we stay and it is an awesome place. They have cabin rentals right on the river, a restaurant on site, a playground for the kids, and great fishing from the docks.
If you want to stay in the Orlando specific area, check out VRBO for houses on the Conway chain of lakes in Orlando, or the Butler chain of lakes in Windermere. |

I agree with the Conway chain. Great chain of lakes. Super clean water and an awesome shallow section in the back where you can anchor and hang in waist deep water. We go out there almost every weekend. When is this yearly Nautique gathering? I'd like to go next year. |
