Long time no post, but I have a rather obscure question about the proper fairing/geometry of some specific areas of the cap on a 1st gen mustang.

For background, this entire boat was refinished in the late 80’s with Imron. Additionally, it appears that sometime before that the Starboard side was repaired and regeled from an accident. I have since stripped almost all of the Imron from the hull, repaired the numerous checks/stress fractures/previously damaged areas. I am moving toward the final steps of getting the cap ready to regel. During this stage of fairing I have noticed that on the outside edge of the starboard side and the front bow edge of the cap have been rounded over. This is in comparison to the port side and the stern, which have a hard edge at this intersection.

Anyone know how this edge was on the original boats? I am guessing that the stern and port side are correct, as they have seen less “work” over the years. The bow area has me a little stumped, and I it may have been rounded over but I’m not sure.

I am probably overthinking this one, but I’m at the stage where I can get it right or move on and get it wrong.

Stern Edge

Starboard Side (repaired section, not rounded)

Regards,
Mike
